Finished... at least the painting part is

I still can't decide which way this picture looks "better." It's meant to be in a portrait orientation, but turning it 90 degrees to put it in landscape orientation also looks good to me. As I've said before, this is one of the most confusing pictures I've ever done.

These photos will have to do for now. We're having gloomy weather and I don't know if I need more light to get a better photo.

At any rate, finishing this is a major relief. I don't even want to know how many hours went into making it. I do know that I started it three months ago which means that, at least in terms of the calendar, it didn't take as long as a number of the other pictures I've made. Still, kind of pathetic to devote this much time to a picture that's only about 13 X 16 inches.
